Three things, in roughly this order: how far it is going, what you are driving, and how hard it is to reach. A sedan in an open parking lot going three miles is the cheapest job we do. The same sedan wedged in a tight downtown lane, going forty miles, is a different number — and it should be.
Access is the one people forget. A vehicle nose-first in a carport, boxed in on both sides, or on a deck with a height limit takes longer and sometimes takes a different truck. Mentioning it on the call is what keeps the quote accurate instead of revised on arrival.

Why there is no price list
Publishing one number would mean overcharging half the people who read it and underquoting the rest. What you get instead is the actual job priced on the phone, free and with no obligation, along with an ETA.
The number you agree to is the number at the end, unless the job turns out to be different from what was described — the wheels will not turn after all, or it is further off the road than it sounded. In that case you hear the revised figure before any work starts, not afterwards.

Is the price I am quoted the price I pay?
Yes, as long as the job matches what was described on the phone. The two things that change a quote are a vehicle that turns out not to roll or steer when we were told it does, and access that is significantly harder than described. Either way you hear the new number before work starts rather than seeing it on an invoice.
Do you charge more at night or on weekends?
Ask when you call and you will get a straight answer for your specific job. The phone is answered around the clock and the truck runs around the clock, so a two in the morning call is not a problem — but rates depend on distance, vehicle and access rather than on a flat surcharge you have to guess at.
Can you tow it to my own mechanic?
Yes. Name the shop and the address when you call. If the shop is closed we can usually drop the vehicle in their lot, but check whether they accept after-hours drops first, because some do not and that turns one tow into two.
What if my car is in a garage, carport or tight parking space?
Say so on the call, including any height restriction. A full-size flatbed will not clear most parking decks, and a vehicle boxed in on three sides may need a different approach. Knowing before we dispatch means the right truck arrives once rather than the wrong truck arriving twice.
